Found in Paris, this large scale Louis Philippe period armoire from the mid-nineteenth century is constructed of solid oak and features rounded front corners and a subtle geometric border of inlaid ebonized pear wood on the facade. The armoire stands on high bun feet, and the rounded corner design of the cabinet is repeated in its cornice. Its two doors open to reveal an interior with three shelves that allow for ample storage. The lowest shelf holds a long single drawer of dovetail construction, and the middle shelf supports three additional drawers. Its cabinet measures 59.5 inches wide and 21.75 inches deep. The single key serves as a pull for the doors and drawer. c. 1850.
