Our last day in the Perigord/Dordogne region was the highlight of our wandering through the Middle Ages this week. The ancient town of Eymet was throwing its 35th annual medieval festival. The four of us took on our feudal alter egos (vassals, merchantwoman, and a noble maiden) and joined in on all the festivities.
Medieval games…
Archery…
The medieval market…
Greyhounds…
Minstrels…
And eerie performers…
Pigs were roasted all day on the central square of this bastide village which was all decked out for the medieval feast in the evening.
The guests were seated…
And dinner was served…
The guests were entertained by sword throwers, horn players, and fire eaters…
A magical last day for the Hunt family in the Perigord.
